Shiva, we became close during our time on the wrestling team and became even closer after graduation. Spending hours listening to Bob Marley and playing NCAA 2003 in Thesiens's basement, wrestling at the Silverdome, to training with Sensei Gaffke. We had a lot of great memories and even though we went separate ways over the years I'll forever cherish our time as great friends. You will be greatly missed. Until next time my friend.

Shiva worked out in our garage dojo for many years. As I reflect upon his memory - three things come to mind:
1. He was incredibly humble.
2. He had an incredible work ethic and an indominable spirit.
3. He was not only gutsy, but smart and slick on the mats.
It was a pleasure and an honor to have him work out with us. He will be missed not only by me and my boys, but by rest of the people he worked out with.
Rest in peace, love you, until we roll again,
Master G
Shiva was a glowing spirit in every way. His smile was as constant and contagious as his drive to learn and grow. He will be missed, until we meet again.

There's a lot of fond memories with Shiva. As a kid, he was always inquisitive, his favorite question is " why". As an adult, he is strong willed, philosophical, and sometimes goofy. As a fighter, intense and well disciplined.
My dear nephew, I'll be seeing you. But not yet, not just yet.

I remember meeting Shiva when I was a freshman at AHS, and joined the wrestling team. I ended up the varsity 103 wrestler, and I thought Shiva was easily the most intimidating wrestler I’d ever seen.
Years later, I can still remember looking at people a couple years later going “eh, Shiva would beat him”. It wasn’t just because Shiva was a good wrestler or probably in the best shape I’d seen another human (though that was also the case), but I never saw the man give up. Not on one of his matches, and never on a teammate, either.
I hope the very kind soul who took a misfit kid under his wing finds some amount of peace in his next journey, but I at least know one thing-whatever may come, Shiva, and that indomitable spirit of his, touched way too many people for the lessons, kindness, or sheer love he had for life and those in it to ever truly be gone.
