Obituary of Mike Glatt
Wallace Michael Glatt, 87, of Walton, KY, better known to all who loved him as Mike, passed away peacefully enveloped in the arms of family at his residence on March 19, 2024. Born on April 18, 1936 in Hague, North Dakota, he was the son of Joseph Glatt and Mary Glatt [neé Smith].
As fate would have it, he met the love of his life, Kathleen Coffey, one night at a barn dance in Spokane, WA. She needed a dance partner and he was happy to oblige. Shortly thereafter, Mike and Kathleen were married. They re-located to Cincinnati, OH, settling there to raise their family. Mike was a proud Army veteran. A Bulldog for life, he was also a proud graduate of Gonzaga University, where he gained his undergraduate degree in engineering. He retired from a career as an engineer at General Electric, Aerospace/Aviation Division. A life-long learner and student of many disciplines, he also obtained a Master’s degree from Xavier University in Marketing. Mike’s signature dry sense of humor and his one-of-a-kind laugh will be deeply missed.
Mike was predeceased by his parents and 12 siblings. Mike was beloved husband to Kathleen Glatt [neé Coffey]; cherished dad to Jerry (Holly) Glatt, Michael (Cathy) Glatt, Christine (Dan) Bode, and Theresa (Tony) Lanzillotta; and treasured grandpa and great-grandpa to David, Allison, Emily, Suzie, Landon, Kaylen, Hayden, Carson, Brenden, Cameron, Alaina, and Oliver. He was a precious uncle to numerous nieces and nephews and was close to a number of other special relatives and dear friends.
