Obituary of Eula Grizzell

Eula Mae Sandlin Grizzell, age 89, of Kenton, KY, died Monday, November 21, 2011, at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood. She was a homemaker, a member of Kenton Baptist Church, and a KY Colonel. Ms. Grizzell was tirelessly contributed to many civic and fraternal organizations including being a founding member of the Kenton Volunteer Fire Department and Ladies Auxillary, past President of P.T.A. Council for Visalia Elementary, past member and State Councilor of Kenton Council #9 of Daughters of America, a member of Bradford Star Order of the Eastern Star and a past Royal Matron in the Order of Amaranth. Her husband, Charles Arvil Grizzell and step-granddaughter, Monica Henderson, preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughters, Joyce Simpson of Florence and Donna Stewart of Morning View; son, Chuck Grizzell of Kenton; sisters, Jean Brewer of Cincinnati, OH, Reba Peters of Bethel, OH, and Pauline Becknell of Owsley County, KY; brother, Jack Sandlin of Owsley County, KY; eight grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Chambers & Grubbs in Independence. Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Independence Cemetery.
