Obituary of Thomas Nunery

Thomas Arnold Nunery, Sr., age 88, of Florence, formerly of Independence, died Monday, February 14, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Hospice Center in Edgewood. He was a retired driver/salesman for Cedar Hill Farms, a former maintenance worker for the Kenton County Board of Education, a member of Staffordsburg United Methodist Church and a WWII Air Force veteran. Mr. Nunery enjoyed woodworking, yard work, collecting stamps and coins and U.K. basketball. Survivors include his wife, Jean Nutting Nunery of Florence; son, Tom (Hester) A. Nunery, Jr. of Independence; brother, Rev. C. Albert Nunery of Indianapolis, IN; granddaughter, Carrie (Tim) McMahon of Independence; grandson, Jon Vater of Norwood, OH; and great grandson, Ryan McMahon of Independence.
A celebration of Tom's life will be held Saturday, February 19th, at 10 a.m. at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery.
