Tom Nunery was my only uncle and a man who I held in the highest honor and respect. When I was a boy I called him Unk and the name stuck. Unk and his brother (my Dad) were two of the hardest working men I have ever known. But Unk had a playful side to him too and I always enjoyed being around him. He liked to play ball, watch U.K. basketball, work on his yard, refinish furniture and clean his car and in so doing, he taught his son, Tommy and the rest of us who were watching that you could work hard but still have lots of fun. He was always tender, loving and kind to his wife of 69 years, my Aunt Jean, and in so doing taught Tommy and the rest of us how to love, honor and respect the women in our lives. The world is diminished by his passing but for those of us who were privileged to know him, our lives are immeasurably better. I love you Unk.
