Much like Dennis, we too greatly enjoyed our over the fence talks & the abundant bounty of the garden. Being new to the area with no family nearby, it was a true blessing to find a man such as Ray (& Barb) right across the 'creek'. Whether it was advice about a balky lawn mower, talking over fruit tree pruning, or just sitting on the swings under the house trading Army stories, I truly treasured those times (as I treasure the mental image of him sitting on a barstool out in the garden with a 6 pack & a shotgun waiting for a mole to appear - he was one of a kind :-) ). The world is certainly a lesser place without him, but I know I am a better man from knowing him. My sincere (if somewhat late...) condolences.
