I came back to visit from Ohio University and Mom, Clyde and I went to a local establishment they enjoyed a lot called the Draw Bridge. After a nice dinner, we made our way to the bar and many friends of the Baslers showed up and one thing led to another and then another and another and another... matching wits with Clyde and friends on various shot types was a dangerous game that ended with a flaming shot, something I had never done before or since. We had such a fantastic time that night, I will never forget it, we laughed for hours, on and on, until it was 'time to go', demanded the designated driver, Mom. On the way home the shenanigans continued, Mom was driving Clyde's three seater El Camino and Clyde was in the middle, he would reach over and shift the car into neutral much to Mom's chagrin and to our delight, we just laughed and laughed. When we reached home safely, do to our most excellent designated driver, I opened the door and simply fell out onto the grass. Of course, I insisted Clyde had pushed me and complained to Mom to no avail. Clyde denied the push vehemently as I continued to insist. Once again, we laughed and laughed and laughed. I know it sounds a bit like a debacle but Clyde and I bonded that night, I have loved him ever since. He was a loving and caring Husband to Mom and he deserved all the tender loving care he received from Mom for many years, all the years of their marriage.
Go with God Clyde, until we meet again, your loving step-son, Robby
