Obituary of Edward Koors

INDEPENDENCE -Edward Koors, age 77, died Friday, January 8, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Health Care of Edgewood. He was the former President of Controls & Sheet Metal, Inc., a member of St. Cecilia Church in Independence and the Knights of Columbus (over 40 years). Mr. Koors previously worked in the heating and air conditioning field (over 40 years) and had been an employee of the Kroger Company. He was also a former proprietor of Koors Tavern in Covington. Survivors include his wife Thelma Jean Koors of Independence; (4) sons, Ken Koors of Independence, Keith Koors of Petersburg, Kerry Koors of Burlington, and Jon Koors of Melbourne; daughter, Katherine Kern of Burlington; (2) step-sons, Jerry Wells of Bellevue and Tom Wells of Independence; step-daughter, Deborah Pearce of Corinth; sister, Marilyn Tillery of Covington; (14) grandchildren; and (6) great grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon at St. Cecilia Church, 5313 Madison Pike, Independence, KY, 41051. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12 noon. Interment will take place at St. Cecilia Cemetery. Memorials can be made to St. Cecilia.
