Carol and family, From the time that Lou helped us to move into our first apartment in northern Kentucky, until now, Becky and I considered Lou (and you) as "friends of the family." Lou was always kind, considerate, and an excellent colleague. We served on committees, had discussions about teaching, and watched our kids grow up. He will be missed by many who knew him. Lou was a dear friend and he will be greatly missed. His work at his church and in his community were much appreciated by all. His inner strength as he neared the end was a testimony of his deep faith and compassion. He spoke about preparing himself and the family for the time when he would be gone, and about how pleased he was that he was able to outlive by a substantial amount an initial grim prognosis. At the end, he relinquished his life as he lived it, trusting in his Savior, who preceded him, and us: passing through the door of death which leads to a better, tearless life. 2 Samuel 12:23b: "I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me." Goodbye Lou, until I pass through that same door, and we meet again, at Jesus' feet. Gary Crum

I am very sorry for your loss. As a previous staff member in the NKU Bookstore, I worked with Dr. Noyd for many years in ordering materials for his classes. He was always so kind and easy to work with. I enjoyed chatting with him. He was a faculty member who made a very positive impression.

We are so sorry for your loss. Dr. Lou (as we called him) will always hold a special place in our hearts. My wife and I first met in his economics class at NKU back in 1986. I didn't know this at the time, but apparently Dr. Lou had caught wind of my interest in the young lady that sat in the front row and, knowing that I was too much of a chicken to make the first move, arranged for us to be in the same work group. We didn't realize this until one day after graduation when we were telling the story to a group of friends of how lucky we were to have been in the same work group in Economics class and one of them who was in the class started laughing and told us that Dr. Lou had arranged the whole thing. We will celebrate our 20th anniversary this year. He always went out of his way to not only make his classes interesting and relevant but to also take the time to listen to his students and provide guidance. On numerous occasions he would stop us on campus and ask how we were doing and, more importantly, be sincerely interested in our answer. He will be greatly missed.

Dear Carol, Jamie, Kimmy and Nathan, We are so sorry for your loss, yet so comforted to know Lou is with the Lord. He was such a faithful servant of the Lord and through his faith touched many lives. His endless dedication to Bethany Lutheran Church made it possible for many to worship and learn there. His devotion to his family set an example for others. His strength and dignity through his illness was inspiring. What a truly wonderful man that will be greatly missed. Recently, Randy came across the sheet music Lou gave him for 'Jesus is just alright' and said he thought of Lou every time he played that song. Just like Lou, it will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Love to all of you, you are in our prayers.
