I have so many memories of Ellen from our years in grade school and high school and all of them highlight her enthusiasm and wonderful sense of humor. But what we are most grateful for is that she encouraged Denny to ask me out on a date! Ellen was our matchmaker and we are forever blessed because of her. She will always be in our hearts and we know she has the angels laughing in heaven.

Ellen was brilliant in her work and was always passionate about getting things right, amidst all the obstacles we faced at work. Her work ethic and passion inspired those around her to "get it right", too! I looked forward to talking to her everyday...smiling and laughing, and sharing what was going on. While she put "everything" into her work, her family was her real life, and she always spoke with excitement about her time off with her family and friends. May the Peace of our Lord be with all of us who mourn our great loss and recognize the great gain of having known Ellen.

I first met Ellen when you brought her to band camp many years ago Frank, we worked many summers together making sure everything was taken care of for Band camp when you directed Holmes Marching Band. I have been having flash backs of her carrying Conner and all the colored arms for mixing kool-aid. Later we ran into each other again at IRS. This is truely a small world. Where I sit in another unit we could hear Ellen instruct, council, direct, most importantly laugh at something someone said, her laugh was infectious. She was a part of a team,a mentor and she will be missed. God bless to you all.

Ellen was an amazing person and a blessing to have known. During a time when other people were less than friendly, Ellen always made me feel welcome and loved. Wearing hijab or without, she always told me I was beautiful and made me feel so with her wonderful smile. The world is a sadder place without her in it. Since I cannot be at her funeral, I will pray that God will lighten the load on her loved one's hearts and look after them now that she has left. We belong to God and to Him is our return.

I will always remember and appreciate Ellen for the excellent quality work she supported us with in Exam Dept. However, one of my fondest memories was the year we did The Grinch who Stole Christmas for a cfc fundraiser. I was trying to find a pic of Ellen, she came in with her pj's on and sported a big blue wig, being one of the Whos from Whoville! She was laughing and smiling and had the best time. I think she shocked everyone with her great acting skills. Seemed she was able to do all things well!! So sorry for your loss and we will miss her so much. Love and Prayers, Lisa E.

I worked with Ellen for a couple years in the Files building; we worked shipping around boxes here, there and everywhere. We met up again later in the Exam department when she was a lead clerk and I was an examiner. I was always asking her questions on how and where to find something. She was always dedicated, knowledgeable, hardworking and funny. That is something, not only those that worked close to her came to know, but anyone that met her would soon realize. As a person, friend and coworker, she will truly be missed!

If memory serves us correctly, Ellen's first SCA event was Fenix Pheon on a warm July day in Union, KY at the Boy Scout Camp. We were first timers also. We spent some time together on the Thrown Weapons Range. In Fact, Lord Tedric & Lady Ellen entered into a Thrown Weapons competition that led to an EPIC competition. He does not remember how many rounds or how many other competitors there were. What he does remember is leading the competition after his final weapons were thrown. Lady Ellen would need a perfect score to defeat him by one point. Lady Ellen strolled to the line, and Lord Tedric and others watched in AWE as she so graciously and ellegantly threw a perfect score and sealed her victory!!!!! A Grace and Ellegance that Ellen brought with her to every encounter we EVER shared with her. She will ALWAYS and FOREVER be a part of OUR LIVES, mundane and SCA. We think we see a new star in the heavens tonight. Lady Ellen please continue to shine your light upon us until We meet once again.

Aunt Ellen - you were a one of a kind aunt. The one that took me to experience Jimmy Buffet and Renissance festivals for the first time, the one that talked some sense to me when I decided to go to my first college party as a sophmore and never called my mom to tell her where I was. I loved your laugh and the quick comebacks. I will never forget the afternoons and evenings hanging out with you and Uncle Frank between my classes at NKU and helping you clean before Connor's birthday parties. And the studying tips with caffeine and chocolate. I feel honored to have known such an amazing person my entire life - I just wish it would have been a little bit longer.
