Bennie E. Collins, 83, of Covington passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at VA Hospital of Cincinnati. He was an accountant for B. & O. Railroad, a member of the Masonic Lodge #159 and an Army veteran. Bennie was also a member of Taylor Mill Pentecostal Church. He is preceded in death by his daughter Tambra Gay Collins Carpenter in 2004; sisters Lois Jean, Josephine, and Shirley; brothers Eddie, Bill and Glen.
Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years Magdeline Mooneyham Collins; daughters Sharon Kay Hart (Layne) Adams of Covington and Glenna Darlene (Gary) Hoskins of Burlington; sister Helen of Texas; brothers Paul Collins of Campbell County and Carroll Collins of Ohio; grandchildren Brandon Behrens, Shanda Carpenter Murphy, Bennie Hoskins, Raeanne Hart Thompson, and Samuel Hart; great-grandchildren Andrew Behrens, Matthew Murphy, Jacob Murphy, Brent Behrens, Madeline Behrens, Brooks Hoskins, and Benjamin Hart.
Visitation will be Friday, August 31, 2012 from 11:00 AM until time of funeral service at 1:00 PM at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home of Independence. Burial will follow immediately at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be directed to D.A.V.
