Obituary of Geneva Hamlin

Geneva Hamlin, 80, of Independence, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood. Geneva was retired from the IRS as an Appeals Officer after 28 years of service and was a Charter Member of Rosedale Baptist Church in Latonia for 57 years where she was a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School Teacher, choir member, and Church Clerk. Geneva enjoyed traveling, volunteer work, quilting, working with the Samaritan's Purse Shoebox Ministry, and cooking for "multitudes" of family and friends. Geneva is survived by her husband and best friend for 61 years, Walter Hamlin, Independence, Kentucky; children Rick Hamlin, Independence, Kentucky, Michele (Hamlin) Goodrich and James Goodrich and grandchildren Ethan and Sarah Goodrich of Union, Kentucky, and Bryan Hamlin of Denver, Colorado; brother Jimmy Hoskins of Indiana; and sisters Josie Lane of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, Kathleen Blanton of Alva, Kentucky, and Rachel McCreary of Hulen, Kentucky.
Visitation will be held at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence, Kentucky on Sunday, June 3, 2012 from 4 to 7 with funeral immediately following at 7 PM. Burial will be at Independence Cemetery, Independence, Kentucky on Monday at 11 AM.
