Obituary of James Robert Schoborg

James Robert Schoborg of Independence, age 69, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at Madona Manor in Villa Hills, KY. He was born in Covington, KY on December 29, 1954. Jim was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and retired from TMK-Ipsco, formerly known as Newport Steel. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf, working on old cars, and watching the Bengals play. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Jim was outgoing and talkative, he loved to make people laugh. He could fix anything and was a hard worker who was generous with his time and skills.

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Burns Schoborg; his mother, Mary Angela {Jacobs Schoborg} Meese and stepfather, Al Meese; sister, Pam Schoborg Knox; and his brother, David Schoborg.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Debbie Schoborg; son, Robert Burns (Samantha) Schoborg II; beloved grandchildren Roman and Eleanora; siblings, Terry (Joe) Winterberg and Michael Schoborg; and his sister-in-law, Christy Schoborg-Odle; as well as many other friends and relatives who will cherish his memory.

A gathering of friends will be held Friday, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM, at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church 3285 Mills rd. Taylor Mill, KY 41015. The memorial mass will begin at 6:00 PM.  Memorial donations can be made to Milestones Equestrian Achievement Program by clicking here or to St. Patrick Catholic Church.
