Dear Karen and Family,
While I was saddened to hear of Dale’s “graduation” in the Bemidji paper, and I know we will all miss him, seeing his picture brought a warm smile to my face. I’m sure he must have had some irritating traits, but in my every encounter with the both of you I only knew the kindness, gentleness, and love of Jesus that the two of you brought everywhere you went. I don’t know that I have ever met a more humble and whole hearted servant for the Kingdom of God than Dale. He was an example and encouragement to me and so many others. I look forward to seeing him at the Great Banquet Table where he is already visiting with Richard and Angela Cutbank. Blessings, comfort, and warm greetings to you all. Jesus reigns! (Dr.) Mark Claussen, Bemidji, MN

I remember Dale and Karen, Beth and Matt on our WMPL Ecuador team. Dale was always so friendly and he had a biggest, most inviting and caring smile! Dale and his family were an integral part of our team. His commitment to evangelize and disciple the Quichua people was very strong! I was encouraged to hear that after they left Ecuador, Dale and Karen spent years among the Ojibwe people in northern MN--a people forgotten by many. Dale took seriously Jesus command to "Go and make disciples of all nations." Matthew 28:19
May God bless Dale's memory and comfort Karen and his children and grandchildren!

Dale and Karen,
Thank you for sharing your lives with me and my family. Only eternity will reveal the full impact but for now I want to express my eternal appreciation for what you have meant to me. Thank you for all your prayers! Dale has been a weekly prayer partner since coming to Bemidji which continued via phone after he moved to Kentucky. The wisdom, council, faith and demonstration of living a godly life has blessed me immeasurably and I will greatly miss him. You and your family, Karen, will remain in Mary's and my prayers.

Dearest Karen, Beth and Matt,
My Dale and I have such beautiful memories of your whole family in Gualaceo, Cuenca and then Quito. We loved your heart for the Lord and for the Quichua people. Dale always had a beautiful smile, and Karen, you were like a mentor to me. I loved just visiting you and learning so much from you about life, about raising kids. I loved and appreciated you like a mom, thank you for being a partner in sharing Jesus there in Ecuador. May Jesus hold you close as you miss your Dale in the coming days, weeks and months.
Your friends, Dale and Lillian

So many memories. Dale was such a mentor and beloved co-worker with us in Cuenca, Ecuador ministering to the Quichua people, teaching us about the Ecuadorean culture and then the Quichua culture in Cuenca and in surrounding villages. Dale and Karen picked Paul and I and baby Justo up at the airport in Guayaquil in July 1981 when we first stepped foot in Ecuador. They loved us so well. Dale was such a gentle, wise and kind person. Their home was full of generous hospitality. Dale loved bananas. There were plenty to be had in Ecuador. He had a playful wit about him and how he loved the Word (Jesus) and the Word of God in every language. He was a loving and involved father and husband and was intentional about balancing family and ministry.
Blessed be your memory. Jesus give much comfort to Karen. We love you!

Dear Karen, Beth, and Matt,
I want to send my sincere condolences to you. I remember smiling Dale. Beth and Becky played in the sand box as we worked on learning Spanish!! It is great that Beth and Matt are not too far away. My three kids really helped me with all the paperwork when Bill went to heaven in 2015. If you have a discover card in both your names, it will automatically be cancelled. You have to get a new one with just your name!!!! I hope that Dale was not sick for a long time. My email is carolynreich6@gmail.com or you can text or call at 717-271-3498

Dale was one of the most Jesus-like people I’ve ever met. He helped many guys at Reset Ministries and was always so faithful in staying connected to them even after they graduated. I’m so thankful for the chance to serve with him and was always inspired by his humility and his tender love for Jesus.
