Obituary of Rosa Ball
Rosa (Proctor) Ball, 80 years old, of Independence KY passed from this life at her home with her sons by her side on Sunday evening, August 4, 2024.
In her father’s clockshop near Mt. Vernon, Kentucky, Rosa was born on a cold Monday in January to her parents, Granville and Ella Mae, delivered by the help of her Granny. She was the third child of eight. Shy in her younger years, she looked to her siblings for a shoulder to lean on and to help her through school years. Her family enjoyed loading into their Model T together, riding across Rockcastle County to sing hymns at various churches.
After graduation, she was wed to Charles B. Ball. They traveled north to settle in Reading, Ohio. Charles and Rosa attended Madison Pike Church of God together as a new family raising their sons. In their younger years the family camped together along with other groups of families. Rosa enjoyed fishing with her husband. She reared her family through the Kenton County schools then displayed her creativity through work as a florist at the local Kroger. Her friends enjoyed her pleasing personality, she did not know a stranger! Rosa was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds and tried hard not to miss a game.
Rosa is greeted in death by; her loving husband, Charles Ball, infant son; Ronald James Ball, parents; Granville Proctor and Ella Mae (Bryant Holt) Proctor, and her siblings; Doris, Mabel, Albert, Charles, and Joe.
She leaves behind her sons; Charles “Marty” (Nora “Jamie” Kilburn) Ball, and Mike Ball, sisters; Joyce, Jean, and Mildred, five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, as well as many others who loved her.
After cremation, Rosa will be laid to rest at Briarfield Cemetery in Orlando, Kentucky next to her family.
