Obituary of Linda Hurston Haynes
Linda Hurston Haynes, age 76, of Walton passed away Thursday, June 27, 2024, at the St. Elizabeth Hospice care in Edgewood. After a short yet valiant battle with cancer Linda was accompanied by her siblings and family when she slipped out of our world into her heavenly home.
Linda Haynes loved God, Family, and Travel. In her early years she attended Walton Church of God with her family. She devoted her time to the nursery school and she taught children’s church. For the last 13 years she attended Community Family Church and did not have a hard time making friends. Although she enjoyed nice things and adventures, she was not a fan of gawdy, over-the-top whimsies. Linda was content rooting on the Bengals or going to see the Big Red Machine on Tuesdays with her friend. When traveling for work or play, Linda enjoyed shopping and eating out, Careful not to bring home too many knickknacks as she did not want to create dust. She was meticulous and bright, working in the field of accounting flowed over into her personal life where she left detailed notes for loved ones and organized Tupperware totes, stacked accordingly. She enjoyed movies and sharing them with loved ones. Linda’s kind and giving attitude will be missed by many. It was said that “If she had it, you had it!”.
Awaiting her in heaven are her parents; Claude and Pauline Hurston, and her siblings in law; Donna Hurston, Donnie Poole, and Joyce Hurston. Left on earth to mourn her loss are her siblings; Estil, David, and John Hurston, and Sherry Poole, Step daughter; Tessa Haynes, Step granddaughter; Lauren Marrs, nephews; Shawn Hurston, Christopher Hurston, Jake Hurston, Ethan Hurston, Matthew Poole, Luke Hurston, and only niece; Leslie Gullion, and several great-nieces and nephews- Aunt Linda loved her babies!
In remembrance of Linda, please find a cherished one in your life and pile into the car for a long drive with an iced tea or offer a listening ear and warm hug at the local nursing home or church nursery.
