Obituary of Wanda F. Wilhelm "Gigi"
Wanda F. Wilhelm “Gigi”, 82, of Walton, KY, passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood on Friday, May 31, 2024. The daughter of Burney and Fern {Baker} Bowman, Wanda was born in Levi, KY on July 16, 1941. A longtime member of All Saints Catholic Church, Wanda held a close relationship with God. She enjoyed singing karaoke and listening to her favorite artist, Patsy Cline. In her spare time, she also loved gardening, sewing, crocheting, and making crafts for the local flea markets. Wanda most of all cherished the time spent with all her grandchildren whom she cared for dearly.
Those left surviving to carry on Wanda’s legacy include her children, Raymond L. Vickers, Lisa L. McKinney, Kim Bassett, Angel Murphy, and Brad Wilhelm; siblings Sue Jackson, Joyce Bowman, Nancy Richardson, and Gary Bowman; grandchildren Lisa Nicole Vickers, Zachary Mark Vickers, Amanda Brogan, Christopher McKinney, Kelly Murphy, Tad Murphy, Blake Wilhelm, Nate Wilhelm, Curtis Bassett, and Jeremy Bassett; great-grandchildren Luna Rose Vickers, Austin Fuson, Brandon Fleenor, Tylor Fuson, Elizabeth Brogan, Anthony McKinney, Jasper Ray McKinney, Bonnie McKinney, and Luca Sardoni; and great-great-grandchildren Axton Fuson and Bella Rose Clair.
In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Walter Wilhelm, son Michael Irvin, and brothers James Larry Bowman and William Bowman.
A visitation will be held from 10 AM until 12 PM on Wednesday, June 5th at All Saints Catholic Church, 62 Needmore Street, Walton, KY 41094. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 12 PM at the church with Fr. Matt Cushing presiding over the services. Wanda will be laid to rest next to her husband at St. John’s Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, KY. Memorial donations may be made to All Saints Catholic Church by mail to the address listed above.
