Obituary of Orville H. Slavey

Orville H. Slavey, 88, formerly of Independence, died Monday at his daughter's home.
He was a conductor for L&N Railroad, World War II Army veteran, 33rd-Degree Mason and a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church; American Legion, Latonia; and Masonic Lodge 345, Latonia.
Survivors include his daughters, Doris Hodgson and Debra Slavey; brother, Bill Slavey; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
His son, John Slavey, died previously.
Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. with services following Wednesday at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, Walton. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Taylor Mill.
