Obituary of Jerry Lee Boian

Jerry Lee Boian was born on August 2,1944 in Cincinnati, OH. He was most presently a resident of Ft Myers, FL and Florence, KY, although he spent years in Corbin, KY and Jacksboro, TN. He left this earthly home as a result of a stroke on April 21,2024 at the Hospice Care of St Elizabeth in the presence of his loving family. Jerry was a graduate of Pennington High school in Alabama, Eastern Kentucky University and then the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. He retired from family dentistry after nearly 30 years serving the community of Corbin with his wife by his side as office manager. Dr Boian had been an active church member of First United Methodist Church in Corbin. He later served as a deacon at First Baptist Church of Jacksboro, TN. He was active in the Kiwanis Club of Corbin, the Hugh Harris Masonic Lodge, and a Shriner with both Oleika and Kerbela temples. He loved military history, anything aviation (from RC planes to fighter jets) and SCUBA diving. He also enjoyed fishing and boating, as he was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary on Norris Lake. He loved spending time with people and taking Reva on trips and cruises. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Ruby Jones Boian and his beloved son David Christopher Boian. Jerry leaves behind his devoted wife of over 56 years, Reva, his daughter, Julie (Tom) Smith, and daughter-in-law, April Boian. He also leaves grandchildren Alex and Taylor Boian, and Amanda, Isabella and Harrison Smith. His siblings Phyllis (Greg) Varo, Barbara (Jeff) Okeson, Wayne (Debbie) Boian, Ronald (Vicki) Boian and sister-in-law Barbara Burkhart as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to miss him. Jerry will be laid to rest at the Boian Cemetery in Irvine, KY. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday May 18 at the home of Julie and Tom Smith.
