Obituary of Edward Michael Denton
Edward Michael Denton, age 54, of Versailles, KY, passed away Monday, April 1, 2024, at his residence. Edward was a man of diverse interests, talents, and accomplishments. He was the Cardiac Thoracic Research Coordinator for the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, KY, and truly enjoyed working there. Previously, he had worked as both a Phlebotomist in Cincinnati and a Embalmer’s Assistant in Northern Kentucky. Two causes, near and dear to Edward’s heart, helping the homeless and AIDS patients also played a role in him working at the Cincinnati Consortium of housing, and Drop In Center in Cincinnati in IT. He was also proud to be a member of Mensa and a Kentucky Colonel.
Edward was a talented musician and enjoyed playing in several “Oldies” cover bands, including The Classics, The Websters, Forehead, and Freek Base. He was known to dress the part including painting himself completely silver while performing. He played a variety of instruments well, but he typically played the keyboard in the bands. Over the years, he also enjoyed listening to “vinyl” and writing and collaborating on music. Recently to relax, Edward did needle point and knitted and recently had taken in his Corgi dog “George”, whom he adored.
He is survived by his parents, Holly and Bob Denton; brother, Robert Andrew “Drew” Denton (Lucinda); grandmother, Elizabeth Brosmore; nephew, Benjamin Denton; and niece, Ann Denton. His grandfather, Edward Brosmore and grandmother, Jessie Denton, both preceded him in death.
Visitation for Edward will be Tuesday, April 9, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. with a funeral service immediately following at 6 p.m. at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051.
