Obituary of Kathy Conover

Kathy Lee (Morgan) Conover born the third daughter of Richard Lee Morgan and Marjorie Elizabeth (Sanders) Morgan Menninger on July 3, 1950, died at the age of 73 on Monday, March 25, 2024.

Kathy was a devoted Mom to Kristen Rae Conover (Reginald Corbett) and Kevin Richard Conover (Donté Evans). She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Bruce William Conover. 
Kathy lived all her life in Kenton County, Kentucky. She graduated from Simon Kenton High School in 1968 and professionally started in banking at that time. Kathy attended a two year banking school and by retirement in 2012 was a Vice President. She spent time in the community over the years by being active in high school band boosters, The Turfway Yearlings women's group, and was an advocate for breast cancer awareness and Parkinson's research. In her younger years she bowled on a league and played softball. She found respite in traveling on land and at sea, spending time with family, participating in a bunko group and even caring for Bruce in his need. Kathy loved Broadway shows, new adventures and vacations, action adventure movies, many genres of music, concerts, jewelry and a well seasoned Filet mignon.
Kathy was a strong, independent woman who maintained her sense of humor and moral compass even during life's challenges. She survived a 2010 bout with breast cancer only to succumb to the disease upon its recent return.
Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, sister Linda (Morgan) Brockman and brother-in-law, Jim Brockman.
In addition to her children, Kathy is survived by her sister Judy Huffman (Cal), brother Richard Morgan (Marilyn), sister Beth Cumbie (Steve), sister Anita Howard (Jeff), nieces, nephews, and several close friends.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike Independence, KY 41051. Immediately following the visitation, a funeral service will begin at 6:00 PM, at the funeral home. Kathy will be laid to rest next to her husband at Independence Cemetery on Wednesday, April 3, 2024. Friends and family are welcome to attend the committal service that will begin at 11:00 AM, at the cemetery.
