Obituary of Homer Lee Carson
Homer Lee Carson 78, of Florence, KY was called home on March 19th, 2024. Born April 13th, 1945 in Carlisle, KY, he was the son of Charlie Homer and Myrtle Carson.
Homer was a hardworking, caring man who had a very generous heart. His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the center of his world. Some of his favorite pastimes were watching his grandchildren’s sporting events, fishing, and spending time with family.
He was a graduate of Harrison County High School, and Homer spent many years of his career working in the life insurance industry. He also worked for both Lowe’s and the Kentucky Enquirer prior to his retirement.
Homer is preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Kirk; their son, Christopher Carson; two daughters, Jennifer Carson and Dreama Carson; grandson, Noah Anspach; his 12 siblings; and his mother and father.
Homer is survived by his children; Holly Reed, Dawn (Kevin) Fannin, Heather (Paul) Anspach, and Matthew (Elizabeth) Carson; grandchildren Megan, Andrew, Amanda, Brandi, Angela, Kristie, Alexis, Clayton, Braydon, Dreama, Zach, Alex, Luke, Tyler, Trenton, Madelyn, Maliah, Emmett, Jacob, Emily, and Jimmy; great-grandchildren Dustin, Corbin, Charity, Landen, Harper, Airick, Arriana, A.J., Lucas, Carter, Kylee, Landon, Benjamin, Noah, Addison, Colin, Carlee, Braylen, Charlotte, Jeremiah and one soon to arrive.
Two visitations will be held for Homer at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 8461 Dixie Hwy, Florence, KY, 41042. The first being held on Monday, March 25th, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The second visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 26th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Directly following the visitation on Tuesday will be a service for Homer. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 3227 Dixie Hwy. Erlanger, KY 41018.
