Obituary of Michael Dale Gambrel

Michael Dale Gambrel of Morning View, age 48, departed from this life unexpectedly on Saturday, March 2, 2024. He was born the son of Connie {Gillum} and Roy Gambrel on April 12, 1975, in Cincinnati, OH. Mike started roofing out of High School and ran his own roofing business for over 28 years. He liked spending his time outdoors. Mike enjoyed camping, boating, and riding 4-wheelers and motorcycles. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his family. He had a big heart that always saw the best in others and touched many lives. His goofy personality, warm smile, and infectious laughter are what made Mike so special. He was a son, dad, brother, fiancé, and papaw who will be missed beyond measure.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his beloved children, Trucker Kruse, Kaylee Gambrel, Isabelle Gambrel, and Corbyn Gambrel; sister, Tammie (Danny) Flege; granddaughter, Ivory Adkins; his loving fiancé and her family whom he loved as his own, Autumn Marksberry; grandmother, Betty Gillum; as well as several other friends and relatives who will cherish his memory.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lester and Ollie Gambrel and maternal grandpa, James Gillum.

A Gathering of Friends will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike Independence, KY 41051. The memorial service will begin at 6:00 PM, at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made in Michael’s name to the Boone County Water Rescue at 7512 East Bend Road, Burlington, KY 41005.
