Obituary of Roger Dale Keith
Roger Dale Keith, 53, of Independence, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, March 10, 2024. The son of Homer and Magdalene {Bowling} Keith, Roger was born in Covington, KY, on March 7, 1971. He graduated from Simon Kenton High School in 1989 and went on to work for Jewel Craft where he
spent over 20 years repairing jewelry. He was a life-long member of Nicholson Christian Church and held a membership with the Independence Boys Investment Club (IBIC).
In his younger years, Roger enjoyed playing basketball and driving go-karts. He loved to play golf, watch U.K. basketball, travel, taking cruises, and visiting the beach with his sister. Roger was a collector of many things including, baseball cards, matchbox cars, hot wheels, and just about anything that involved his favorite car, the Chevrolet Monte Carlo. He took pride in the various Monte Carlos he owned over the years. Roger was also an avid Dale Earnhardt fan and a highlight was getting a personal autograph several years ago. More significantly, Roger was known for his warm hugs and radiant smile. Roger was a friend to all and he knew no stranger.
He will be greatly missed by his father, Homer Keith; brothers Wayne (Susan) Keith and Glenn (Sherry) Keith; nephews Jimmy (Shanna) Keith, Matthew Keith, and Andrew Keith; nieces Tara (Michael) Reid and Courtney (Todd) Vaughn; great nieces Avery, Harper, and Ellinor; great nephews Greyson and Wesson. He will also be missed by MANY cherished friends including one special friend all the way from the hospital nursery at the time of their birth.
Roger was preceded in death by his mother, Magdalene Keith, and sister, Sheila Keith.
A visitation will be held between 10:30 AM and 1 PM with a funeral service to immediately follow at 1 PM on Friday, March 15th at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike Independence, KY 41051. Roger will be laid to rest at Independence Cemetery following services. Memorial donations may be made to the Foundation for Sarcoidosis by clicking here and/or to a charity of your choice.
