Elizabeth (Mullins) Holbrook, age 93, of Morning View, died peacefully on Monday, March 11, 2024 at her home. Elizabeth was born in Guerrant, Kentucky, and graduated from Breathitt County High School. After getting married, she and her husband Virgil moved to Cincinnati, and later settled in Morning View, KY.

Elizabeth was an accomplished cook, and her specialty was southern fried chicken and mac & cheese. She shared this talent with hundreds of local students at Twenhofel Middle School, where she served as cafeteria supervisor for years prior to retiring. Elizabeth and Virgil were active members of Hickory Grove Baptist Church for over forty years. Elizabeth taught children’s Sunday school, VBS, served on the kitchen committee, the bereavement committee, and was a proud deacon’s wife. She had an unwavering faith in God her entire life.

Elizabeth will be remembered for the love she had for her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. She will be greatly missed by her sons, Douglas (Margie) Holbrook and Elliott (Gina) Holbrook; grandchildren Angel Holbrook, Madison (Toby) Hill, Keaton Holbrook, Corey Holbrook, and Mallory (Joshua) Murphy; and great-grandchildren Juno Elizabeth and Emily Mae Holbrook.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Virgil Holbrook who passed in 2014; her parents, Robert and EvaLee Mullins; sisters Dorothy Mullins Cundiff, Velma Mullins Lockard, Gladys Mullins Hall, and Christine Mullins Reynolds; and grandson, Benjamin Holbrook.
