Obituary of Crystal "Cris" Lynn Wiley Traft

Crystal “Cris” Lynn Wiley Traft, 63, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at home surrounded by her beloved family. The daughter to the late Ollie “Leo” and Donna {Lipscomb} Wiley, Cris was born in Covington, KY, on July 31, 1960. A proud Mom, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother, Cris had a huge and loving heart for her family. Cris was an avid animal lover and cherished the pets that she had over the years. In her spare time, she loved to dance and watch U.K. Basketball when broadcasted.

She will be deeply missed by her children Chris (Angela) Thacker and Julie (Djiby) Kouyate; siblings Bethany Wiley, Keith Wiley, and Kevin (Rhonda) Wiley; grandchildren Alysa, Brooke, Skyler, Luke, Logan, Joshua, and Gracie; great-grandson Nathaniel “Nay Nay”; and her dog Tekka and cats Layla and Lillie.

In addition to her parents, Cris was preceded in death by her husband Garry “Pete” Traft, maternal grandparents and Ida and Stanley Lipscomb, and paternal grandparents Letha and Robert Wiley.

A visitation will be held between 2 PM and 5 PM with the funeral service to immediately begin at 5 PM Thursday, February 29th at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike Independence, KY, 41051.
