Obituary of Dovia Louise Pernell
It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce the transition of Dovia Louise Pernell, of Union, KY, who entered into eternal rest on January 29, 2024. She was born on January 3, 2009, and just celebrated her 15th birthday.
A student in her freshman year of high school, Dovia was inquisitive and curious. She loved learning new things and most recently was trying her hand at cooking. Dovia possessed an entrepreneurial spirit and was proud of her popsicle and lemonade stands. She was always coming up with fresh concepts and ideas for new business ventures. Music was a passion of Dovia’s. She listened to Juice WRLD and Cardi B the most. She wasn’t just a fan though but an artist herself. She wrote and performed raps and posted them online, sharing her creative vision with the world. Dovia loved to dance and could always be found filming reels of all the latest TikTok dance challenges. Never shy, Dovia was talkative with a bright and radiant personality that could fill an entire room; beautiful on the inside and the outside as well. She loved her Jordans and big fancy jewelry. She was silly, always making funny faces in her selfies. She was also generous and empathetic and although it may not seem like it, loved to spend one on one quality time with those she loved.
Those left behind to carry Dovia’s memory and share her love and light are her parents, Mike and Jennifer Pernell; her beloved siblings Draevin Pernell, Juniper Pernell and Justice Pernell as well as beloved extended family and many friends. Preceding Dovia in death are her maternal grandparents Phill and Connie Hall as well as her paternal grandparents Fred and Madeline Pernell.
Please come to the visitation which will be held for Dovia at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 8461 Dixie Hwy, Florence, KY, 41042 on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. Guests are invited to call and share stories and memories from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. Directly following this time will be a memorial service celebrating Dovia’s life, also at the funeral home.
