Obituary of Lloyd Elmer Brueckner
Lloyd Elmer Brueckner, age 86, of Independence, KY, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. He was a retired Assistant Treasurer and Manager for Western Southern Life Insurance Company, a member of the Simon Kenton High School Sports Hall of Fame, and a member of Highland Avenue Wesleyan Church in Covington, KY. Lloyd had a servant’s heart and participated in many mission activities over the years. When he was home, Lloyd enjoyed spending time working on his farm, raising cattle and growing a garden. His real enjoyment though came from being active in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren’s lives and attending their many events.
Lloyd was reunited in Heaven with his family: Joseph & Ruby Osborne Brueckner; his second wife, Mae Brueckner; and his brother, Paul Brueckner. He will be truly missed and always remembered by his children, Kimberly Johnson (Barry), Jill Bright (Keb), and Joe Brueckner (Michelle); grandchildren, Courtney Kreft (Kevin), Zachary Johnson, Chase Bright (Grace), Logan Bright (Elizabeth), Carley Brueckner, and Max Brueckner; great grandchildren, Stella Kreft and Gabrielle Kreft; sisters, Rosemary Whaley and Janice Hilbrecht; and first wife, June Brueckner.
Lloyd’s visitation will be Tuesday, January 30, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. His funeral service will be Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Highland Avenue Wesleyan Church, 729 Highland Ave., Covington, KY 41014.
