Obituary of Josephine Thoerner

Josephine {Anderson} Thoerner passed away on Saturday, January 6th, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, KY. She was born in Morning View, KY on June 27th, 1934 to James and Jennie Anderson.

Josephine enjoyed cooking and quality family time. One of her favorite pastimes was watching the calves grow up on the farm. You could often find her doing word searches and in her younger years, Josephine enjoyed playing cards with friends. She was also known to never turn down a good game of bingo.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harry Thoerner; her son, Michael Thoerner, and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her son, Glenn Thoerner; granddaughter Ashley (Bryan) Witt; and her sister Ruth Nagel.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 11th from 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike Independence, KY 41051. A funeral service will begin immediately after the visitation. Following the service, Josephine will be interred at Mother of God Cemetery, 3125 Madison Ave, Latonia, KY 41015.
