Obituary of Stephen C. Crow
Stephen C. Crow, 78, of Erlanger, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood. The son of the late Modlyth R. and Velma F. {Weinbrenner} Crow, Steve was born in Wabash, Indiana, on July 12, 1945. He graduated from Wabash High School in 1963. Steve married his best friend, Sharyl {Miller} on July 3, 1966.
In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Lipply.
A builder by nature, Steve was a master craftsman who spent much of his work and spare time constructing and fixing things. His greatest joy was helping others by working with non-profit organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and People Working Cooperatively, as well as the Immanuel Service Project, where he served ten years as a project leader.
Steve was known for his love of music. He enjoyed playing the trumpet and participated in the Florence Community Band for over 35 years. He sang in church and community choirs most of his life. Steve proudly served in the United States National Guard in Indiana for six years. To his delight, in May of 2019, he and his son participated in an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.
Steve had great affection for the Smoky Mountains, and frequently vacationed there. He faithfully attended hundreds of concerts, programs, and events of his children and grandchildren. And he enjoyed playing card games with his friends and family.
Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 57 years, Sharyl Crow; daughter Elizabeth (Jeff) Sisson; son Andrew (Kate) Crow; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
