Obituary of Carol Jean Herrmann
Carol Jean Herrmann, 85, of Florence, KY, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023, at home surrounded by her loving family. The daughter of the late Weldon and Dorothy {Fields} Hamilton, Carol was born in Scott County, KY, on November 18, 1937. Over the years, she has worked for Remke, Marathon, and Albers. In her younger years she enjoyed singing in her gospel trio at Dixie Heights High School and going camping. She formerly attended Hickory Grove Baptist Church and Beechgrove Baptist Church and most recently attended 7 Hills Church in Florence. Most importantly, she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children Donna (Mike) Gosney, Bill Herrmann, and Thomas Herrmann; grandchildren Regina Hiles, Dennis (Kim) Gosney, and Darrin (Renee) Gosney; great-grandchildren Robert (Jenna) Hiles, Hannah Evans, Courtney Gosney, Carson Gosney, Cacey Gosney, Tori Dunavent, Caylee (Chris) Auer and Cylee (Matteo) Morrison; great-great-grandchildren Sophia and Gunner Hiles, Crew Auer, and Cooper Morrison; sisters Mary Janeway, Donna (Buddy) Turner, Linda (Rick) Burchfield, and Gloria (Doug) Frye; aunt Corda Kidwell; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband Harvey C. Herrmann and sister Addline “Shorty” Mahaney.
Visitation will be held between 5 PM and 8 PM with the funeral service to immediately follow at 8 PM on Monday, November 13th at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 8461 Dixie Hwy, Florence, KY 41042. She will be laid to rest at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown on Tuesday, November 14th at 11 AM.
