Obituary of Joyce Wells
Joyce Lee Wells, 85, of Cumming, Georgia, passed away on October 6, 2023. She was born on December 24, 1937, in Newport, Kentucky, to the late Harry and Ruth (nee Duddey) Kaffenberger. Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and recently, a great grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Joyce had a passion for fishing, camping, and gardening. She found solace in the great outdoors and cherished the time she spent pursuing these hobbies. Joyce's green thumb was evident in her beautiful garden, which brought her immense joy
and satisfaction.
In addition to her hobbies, Joyce loved spending quality time with her loved ones. Family was everything to her. Whether it was gathering around the dinner table, engaging in heartfelt conversations, or creating lasting memories, Joyce cherished the moments she shared with her family and friends.
Joyce is survived by her devoted husband, Bob Wells, of 66 years, her loving son, Jeff Wells (Amy) her caring daughter, Lisa Wells Zenni, and her sister, Elaine Kohler. She will be forever remembered by her grandchildren, Nina Zenni, Kara Zenni Murphy (Charles), Jared Zenni, Dylan Wells, Ethan Wells, and great-granddaughter, Luca James Murphy. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Nancy Garner, her mother-in-law Eva Wells, and her father-in-law Steely Wells.
A gathering of friends for Joyce will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with her memorial service to immediately follow at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or a charity of your choice. Contributions made in Joyce's memory will help support causes that were dear to her heart.
Joyce Lee Wells will be remembered for her loving nature, her dedication to her family, and her zest for life. Her warm smile and kind heart will be greatly missed by all who knew her. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
