Daryl was a Dealer at Hollywood Casino for 15 years after working 25 years at Central Trust/PNC. There he made many lasting friendships still intact to this day.
Every Presidents Day weekend a bus trip to Gatlinburg was the place to be. All night poker games, all day shopping, great food, lots of laughs and bubbles in hot tubs seemed to appear. He was also the organizer of poker and euchre nights.
Giving was in Daryl's DNA. He was always helping in the community from running a softball league to coaching basketball in his younger years. In retirement he cared for his father, sister, and his mother-in-law. His father Tom passed of Alzheimer's and Tom's Troops was created. 7 years of fundraising was a crusade for Daryl, his family and friends. During these 7 years, restaurant nights, Valentine, Halloween Dances and Car Shows were held. In those years Tom's Troops raised $101,173.00 for research.
Daryl was preceded in death by his parents Thomas W Miller. and JoAnn (Cremer) Miller, Cheryl (Miller) Glaza and Dianne Miller. Survivors include his best friend and loving wife of 29 years Peggy June (Cox) Miller, Brothers Thomas R. Miller, Glenn (Anna) Miller, Barry (Kris) Miller, Sister Amy (Miller) Miles, 9 nieces and nephew and 17 great nieces and nephews. The many friends made at the Taylor Mill Moose Lodge 1469, the lifelong friends from Manor Lake Drive to the Alzheimer's Association and the Community of Independence and his mother-in-law’s dog, Buttons who will greatly miss sitting in the comfy chair with him.
