Obituary of Christa L. Atkins
Christa L. Atkins, 58, of Ft. Mitchell, KY, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Hospice Care in Edgewood after bravely fighting glioblastoma for 21 months. The daughter of Annetta “Jean” {Elliott} and Charles Edward Atkins, Christa was born in Cincinnati, OH on April 8, 1965. She graduated from Georgetown College where she received her Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, and she was employed at Western Southern Insurance Company as a Senior Programmer Analyst.
Christa loved adventure and traveling to countries such as Ireland, Cuba, and Italy. She was an avid bike rider and was a member of a community of bike riders known as Ride Cincinnati, whose mission was to help those battling cancer. She once biked across the entire state of Iowa. Her generous heart led her to teach for Junior Achievement, an organization that focused on youth success. She was affiliated with INTERalliance of Greater Cincinnati that centers around keeping IT talent local. Christa was also a member of Ft. Mitchell Baptist Church.
She will be deeply missed by her two sons, Elliott Sipple (Nayelli Reyna) and Aaron Sipple (Mackenzie Brown); boyfriend Gerry Weller; mother Annetta “Jean” Atkins; sister Sherri (David) Miller; nephews Brandon and Jeremy Miller; and great-nephew Owen Miller.
Christa was preceded in death by her father, Charles Edward Atkins.
A visitation will be held between 2 PM and 5 PM on Sunday, April 23rd at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike Independence, KY 41051. Her funeral service will begin at 10 AM on Monday, April 24th at the funeral home. Christa will be laid to rest at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
