Connor,
Along with your brother, you are my light, my heart and my best friend. You will forever be in my heart and remembered, forever be missed and forever be loved. I love you son.
I will never forget how sweet it was to see Connor, Carter, and Ian play together at a beach when we took a trip together with the Sowdon family. They were all such sweet kids! Michael took them to hunt for crabs after dark and I loved that they had cousin time.
Our last time with Connor was Thanksgiving 2015 when he was only a young boy and we had a great time! Both boys asked to visit us again before leaving our home that day. I wish we had all spent more times together. I wish I had been able to watch Conner (both boys) play baseball, other sports or even get a friendly game going in a backyard or park. Thank you Darci for coming to our home for Thanksgiving 2015 and sharing your boys with our family. My daughters, myself and everyone enjoyed spending time with all of you. Love you all!
Q: What will you never forget about Connor?
A: My sweetest memory of being Connor’s Nonnie is humming and singing in his ear. You’d always know when he was sleepy because he’d come sit on Nonnie’s lap and let me hum or sing very softly in his ear. I was sad when he outgrew that stage. Another fond memory was that Nonnie & Poppy bought their Easter outfits every year and I’m sure the boys couldn’t wait to see what I picked so that they’d match the girls (and most of the time even match Nonnie & Poppy). I’m sure they loved that! His contagious smile and sweet spirit will forever live in my heart and mind! Connor was so loved and will be missed by ALL!
We know the "gift" of family and God has greatly blessed us with a huge one! Connor was such a special part of our gift...one of my best memories was when we all went to Topsail beach together. The cousins and aunties were young but, oh, how they enjoyed each other and their time together!! My all time favorite picture is of Connor and Carter snuggled up on either side of Mom on the swing when she was keeping them. I imagine that same scenario in Heaven...our family will now have two huge holes in it at our gatherings...but God can help fill those holes with precious memories...how they linger. Uncle Tom and I love you all so much and as always, are here for you...many prayers being spoken over you all...
Connor was my son’s best friend for the majority of their elementary school years, and always the first he wanted to invite to stay over or come with us anywhere. I have many more pictures of the two of them & in every single one they are both smiling and having a great time. He was the sweetest, well mannered, respectful kid & had a wonderful personality & a heart of gold. I am so grateful that these boys got to grow up together & have so many good times together. We’ve missed him around often since he moved to Kentucky. We are praying for all of his family & those that loved him that the coming days, months, and years will be comforted with all of the good memories of this amazing young man.
I remember throwing Carter and Connor around the pool when they were younger. They always called me uncle joe and I always called each of them nephew bill. I’m not sure why, but it’s probably the most visceral memory I have of Connor. He will be missed terribly, and I will continue to live in his honor. Love and miss you nephew bill!
My nephew Connor, I hope you knew how much we loved you. I always looked forward to seeing you, you gave great hugs and the last time we talked, you were afraid of Carter’s driving and still loving every second of baseball. I’ll miss hearing Landon yell strange teen slang at you through is headset mic on his PS4, we will miss you so much. We Love You
