Obituary of Betty Jo Noonchester
A beloved wife, daughter, sister, mother, memaw and friend, Betty Jo [Byrd] Noonchester, age 52, departed this earth on February 4, 2023. She was surrounded by her family and their love at home as she took her final steps into eternity. It was on a visit with family that Betty Jo surprised her parents and was born in Oneida, KY to Bennie Byrd, Sr. and Judy [Edwards] Byrd on August 11, 1970. Betty Jo was raised in Northern Kentucky, where she graduated from Newport High School.
Directly following graduation Betty Jo started her career at Hubert Company, LLC where she worked for over 34+ years. Betty Jo loved taking care of her customers and they loved her. As hospitality was second nature to her, Betty Jo worked a second job on the weekends at Peecox Bar & Grill where she eventually met Bill Noonchester, the love of her life. Betty Jo had a deep love of living with a warm and friendly spirit.
Betty Jo and Bill decided to make a life together in Burlington, KY, where they loved to host large, fun gatherings/parties (like Betty Jo’s 40th birthday bash which consisted of over 100 friends and family members). Betty Jo also enjoyed watching the Bengals, UK Basketball and playing Euchre. She adored her grandson (Christian) and loved being with him. Those who knew her remember her contagious laugh, her beautiful smile and her caring soul.
Betty Jo was welcomed into Heaven with a huge hug from her stepdaughter Sarah Noonchester. Betty Jo leaves behind her loving husband Bill Noonchester; parents Bennie & Judy Byrd: stepson Andrew Noonchester; siblings Karen Byrd, Mike Byrd, BJ Byrd; and treasured grandson Christian Noonchester. Betty Jo also leaves behind so many dear friends, extended family, co-workers, and her loyal fur baby, Toby.
A gathering of friends and loved ones will be held at Chambers & Grubbs, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051 on Friday, February 10, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
