Obituary of John Cotton

John Elmer Cotton of Burlington, age 72, passed away at his home on Friday, February 3, 2023. He was born in Cincinnati, OH on November 9, 1950 to the late Elmer and Delta (nee Manis) Cotton. John retired as an iron worker for local union #44 and was a loyal member of Big Bone Baptist Church for over 30 years. He also provided ministry at the TA Truckstop and Fairhaven Rescue Mission for over 17 years. In his spare time, John enjoyed reading his bible, fishing, and keeping up with yardwork. John was a cherished husband and godfather who will be missed deeply.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sons, Randy Lee Sellers and Tyran Renard Cotton.

Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Wanda Cotton; beloved godson, Logan Michael Cook; niece, Ivy Jo Beagle; close cousins, Iva Lee, Jerry Manis, and Marsha McGee; as well as several close friends and relatives.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Big Bone Baptist Church, 11036 Big Bone Church Rd, Union, KY 41091. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM at the church. Immediately following the service, John will be laid to rest at Mother of God Cemetery.
