Obituary of Melinda Patrick

Melinda Patrick, 51, of Taylor Mill, KY, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023, on the way to the hospital at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood. The daughter of Wilma Jean {Helton} and Bobby Ray Coghill, Melinda was born in Louisville, KY, on December 6, 1971. She also had a very young son, Dylan Barger (age 27) and daughter in law, Jessica McMillan (age 23) who loved her very much. Melinda also had a husband that she loved dearly, Herbert Patrick (age 65), and her father, Bobby Coghill (age 72). She will be leaving a loving family behind that will meet her again in Heaven someday.

Melinda graduated from Simon Kenton High School in 1990. She worked for her dad’s company. She also worked for the Boone County Water District, other factories, and she was an amazing homemaker and caretaker.

In her spare time, Melinda enjoyed shopping, hanging out with friends and family, taking care of flowers, and loved to be around kids and animals.

Melinda will be deeply missed by her beloved husband of 3 years, Herbert Patrick; son Dylan (Jessica) Barger; father Bobby Ray Coghill; brothers Bobby Ray Coghill Jr. and Brian Coghill; and other family and friends whom she cherished deeply.

She was preceded in death by her mother Wilma Jean Coghill.

A visitation will be held between 11 AM to 1 PM on Wednesday, February 8^th with a funeral service to follow immediately after at 1 PM all at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. Melinda will be laid to rest at Wilmington Baptist Cemetery in Demossville. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Patrick family in c/o Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, to assist with funeral expenses.
