Obituary of Char White
Charlene Gail [Holmes] White, age 71, passed away suddenly after a brief illness at University Of Cincinnati Medical Center on December 30, 2022. She was known to those who loved her simply as “Char.”
Born to Charles and Claire [Amend] Holmes in Dallas, TX on April 23, 1951, Char grew up in Campbell County KY starting at age 4. She was a graduate of Bishop Brossart High School, Class of 1969, as well as Northern Kentucky University. After many years in business, including positions with Executive Jet and Tupperware, Char retired. She was an active member at her church, St. Mary Of The Assumption Parish in Alexandria, KY as well Rebecca Bryan Boone Chapter, NSDAR in Crescent Springs, KY. Char was described by her family as smart as well as exceedingly kind. She was a lover of the arts and a phenomenal cook who embraced trying new and adventurous dishes. Many fond memories are centered around the table at Char and Fritz’s house during Thanksgiving as well as those times she spent teaching her loved ones how to handle themselves in a kitchen. Char was a voracious reader. While she certainly treasured nothing more than a good book in her hand and a cat in her lap, Char was also extremely social with a multitude of friends. Her sarcastic and playful demeanor tempered by just enough sweetness will be missed by many.
Those left behind to carry on the love and light of Char are her daughter Catie White (Gerek Patrick), her stepchildren Matthew White, Sean White (Taryn), Christina Wehry; her siblings Chuck Holmes (Yvonne Rich), Connie Larson (Jan), Clay Holmes (Nancy), Chris Holmes (Elizabeth); and mother Claire [Amend] Holmes. Her step-grandchild Amelia will also miss her “grand-Char”. Additionally, Char leaves behind her mother-in-law Armella “Rusty” White, several cousins, many nieces and nephews and a plethora of friends who will hold her in their hearts.
Char was preceded in death by her husband Anthony “Fritz” White, her father Charles Holmes, Sr. father-in-law Anthony Peter Kramer; stepfather-in-law Edward White and her beloved cat Chloe.
A visitation will be held for Char on January 6, 2023 at St. Mary Of The Assumption Parish, 8246 E Main St, Alexandria, KY 41001. The family will receive guests from 10:00 AM until the time of the memorial mass at 12:00 PM. Directly following mass, Char will be reunited in body with her beloved Fritz at St. Stephen Cemetery, 1523 Alexandria Pike # A, Fort Thomas, KY 41075. Please consider giving a memorial donation in Char’s name to the St. Mary’s Building Fund.
