Obituary of Lucille Black Sturdivant
Lucille Black Sturdivant, age 84, of Independence, KY, passed away, November 24, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood, KY. She was a homemaker and a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Lucille enjoyed knitting, reading, watching T.V., and cooking. She was preceded in death by parents, John Milton Black and Verda Marcie Black, sister, Ada Shelburne, brother, John Black, Jr., and half-sister, Elsie Rhodes. Survivors include her loving husband (of 64 years), Bobby John Sturdivant; sons, Robert John Sturdivant, Keith Alan Sturdivant, and Joey Sturdivant (Monica Griffith); grandchildren, Robert John Sturdivant, II, Alexander Robert Sturdivant, Hannah Raye Sturdivant, Erik Matthew Sturdivant, Ashley Nicole Sturdivant, Autumn Katlyn Sturdivant, Meagan Anne Lyn Griffith, and Shelby Rae New (Jared Riley New); and great-grandchildren, Elijah Matthew Sturdivant, Adalynn Grace Sturdivant, London Sturdivant, Britain Thompson, Braedyn Robert Norbury. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 30, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon with the funeral service immediately following at 12 noon at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051.
