Obituary of Patricia "Pat" Klein
Patricia “Pat” Klein, 89, a lifelong resident of Kentucky, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her beloved family on Saturday, November 19, 2022. The daughter of the late Lida {Pigg} and Arthur Powers, Pat was born in London, KY in 1933.
Pat was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University where she received her masters degree in music education. She pursued her career in music education with Kenton County School District where she retired as a general music and choral teacher. Pat attended several Methodist and Presbyterian churches over the years and was also a member of the Gideons. Her love of music and God blended together as she was an organist for the Sunny Acres United Methodist Church for over 35 years.
A compassionate, genuine and overall incredible woman, she was the quintessential southern gentle woman. Pat inspired others with her strong-willed and determined spirit. She enjoyed volunteering her time at a soup kitchen in Covington; Pat always lent a helping hand to those in need. Pat had her own unique ministry; she knew the power of pie. She realized that she could love others that were suffering with her heavenly comfort pies. Comedian Jack Handey says, “when you die, if you have a choice between going to regular heaven or pie heaven, choose pie heaven,” especially now that Pat has been newly appointed head chef.
Pat will be deeply missed by her two sons, Brad (Marie) Klein and Keith (Margaret) Klein; step-granddaughter, Tara (Hanny) Singh; step-great-grandchild, Lucian Singh-Hindi; as well as many other nieces and other friends who will cherish her memory.
Preceding Pat in death were her parents, her husband of 68 years, Roy Klein, sisters Betty McWhorter and Mitzi McCreary, and brother Arthur “Otti” Powers.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 28th at 6:30 PM at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 8461 Dixie Highway Florence, KY 41042.
