Obituary of Laurel C. Schroeder

Laurel C. Schroeder, 81, of Independence, KY was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Edgewood Hospital. The daughter of the late Eleanor {Johnson} and Luke Kurtz, Laurel was born in Cleveland, OH on September 1, 1940.

Laurel was a graduate of Garfield Heights High School in Garfield Heights, Ohio.

In her past time, Laurel enjoyed painting, reading, creating handmade notes from her computer, gardening and tending to her flowers, and staying active in her church prayer group and bible study. She most of all cherished the time spent with her family and friends that were very dear to her.

Laurel will be deeply missed by her daughters, Janet (Elaine Frazier) Schroeder and Deborah Schroeder; brother David (Janice) Kurtz; nephew Paul (Lee) Kurtz; nieces Karen Kurtz and Katie Kurtz; and her dog Charlie, cats Butterscotch and Mittens, and many grandpuppies and grandcats.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Richard Kurtz.

Visitation will be held between 5 PM and 7 PM on Thursday, July 7^th at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike Independence, KY 41051. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, July 8^th at the funeral home. Laurel will be laid to rest at Independence Cemetery.
