Obituary of Steven Gene Piper
Steven Gene Piper, 66, has passed from our sight after a long illness with COPD. Steve was born and raised in Kenton Co. He graduated from Simon Kenton in 1974 and has many lifelong friends from school and his work as an accredited journyman floor layer. He coached many years of local youth baseball teams and lead many to championships. There's been many a man who has approached him to thank him for his dedication to them as a kid. Steve loved music since he picked up his first guitar and played for Community Family Church for many years. He played with and for family and friends. He was a hit at all his family reunions. He enjoyed a challenge and accomplished building his home, doing most of the work himself.
Those skills paid off when he moved to the country. He really found his heart's desire; cutting down trees, hunting deer and squirrel and raising dogs and chickens. He has enjoyed most of all playing with all of his loved ones. He played with his grandkids, riding them in 4-wheelers or hayrides, talking out whenever they had a joke or a concern. For the rest of us adults he always made us laugh. He made everyone so glad to see him, to be with him and to have known him. We have definitely lost a light in our lives.
Steven is survived by his mother Lenore Piper; sister Gina (Dave) Shoewe; wife Sharie Creech Piper; his son Luke (Shanna) Piper; as well as grandchildren Kali, Quinlan, Casey, Lincoln, Nolan and Charlie.
A celebration of Steven's life will be held at The Pride Park Community Center, 5614 Taylor Mill Rd, Taylor Mill, KY 41015, on Monday, June 20, 2022 from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM. To leave the family an online condolence or to share a photo or memory of Steven, please use the tabs on this page.
