Obituary of Thomas J. Huelsman
Thomas J. Huelsman, age 75, of Crittenden, KY, passed away Monday, May 30, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Grant County, KY. He was the former Chief of Police for the City of Walton, KY, a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Walton, and a U.S. Navy Veteran. Tom was well known for importing and training German Shepherds to serve in law enforcement. After retiring from the police force, Tom was the Service Director at Joseph Cadillac for several years and was also honored to be named a Kentucky Colonel. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Huelsman, his parents, Carl Andrew and Mary Eleanor Geiger Huelsman, and his sister, Mary Ann Justice. Tom is survived by his wife, Judy Schmiade Huelsman; siblings, Carol Drummey, Kathy Kiely (Don) and Linda Staten (Brian); sister-in-law, Linda Poole (Bob); step-son, Steve Kuntz (Lisa); grandchildren, Aris Kuntz (Bobby), Brenan Kuntz (Sadie), Abbey Steinau, Logan Zembrodt, and Luke Zembrodt; great grandchildren, Preston Steinau and Kai Kuntz; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation for Tom will be Friday, June 3, 2022, from 1 to 4 p.m. with the Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 4 p.m. at All Saints Catholic Church, 62 Needmore St., Walton, KY 41094. Interment with military and police honors will be Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Mother of God Cemetery, 3125 Madison Pike, Covington, KY 41015.
