Obituary of Joseph Cheesman

Joseph Ray "Bud" Cheesman, age 85, died Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Hospice of St. Elizabeth Healthcare of Edgewood, KY. He was born August 29, 1926 and lived most of his wonderful life in Morning View, KY. He was a member of Morning View Methodist Church and a great provider for his family. He was one of the founders of the Kenton Community Volunteer Fire Department and worked operating heavy equipment for R.C. Durr, C.J. Coppage, and Carlisle Construction from which he retired, and was told he was the best heavy equipment operator there. He was also a member of the Teamsters Local 18. He was preceded in death by daughters Kathy Ann in 2001 and Rebecca "Becky" Jo in 2006.
Bud was the devoted husband of 63 years to Mary Evelyn "Dutch" (nee Schadler) Cheesman; loving father of Cynthia (Duke) Scott, Gary (Jody) Cheesman, and Joe Cheesman; cherished grandfather of Wade (Tammy) Hubbard, Chris (Marcia) Hubbard, Tammi Jo Naylor, John (Tatum) Rider, David (Aubree) Farmer, Angie (Frank) Armstrong, Aimee (Jay) Farmer, Mandy (Quentin) Davis, Kim (Josh) Cheesman, and Kathy (Mike) Cheesman; dear great-grandfather of Danielle Hubbard, Ritchie, Robert Lee, Rita Jo Ann Naylor, Malachi Rider, Frank and Ellie Mae Ann Armstrong and Wyatt Patrick Farmer. He was also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM, Monday, December 19, 2011 at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home of Independence. Funeral service will be 11 AM Tuesday, December 20, 2011 also at the funeral home. Burial will be at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens of Taylor Mill. Memorials are suggested to the Morning View Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 13, Morning View, KY 41063 or Redwood Rehabilitation Center 71 Orphanage Rd., Ft. Mitchell, KY 41017.
