Obituary of Bernard William Wesselman
Bernard William “Wes” Wesselman, age 88, of Independence, KY, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021. He was a retired Mechanical Engineer for Ellis & Watts, a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, a U.S. Army Veteran, and a member of the American Legion Moon Brothers Post #275. Wes enjoyed shooting sports, wine making, golf, square dancing and spending time with his family. Previously he had also been involved with the Boy Scouts as a Cub Master. His wife, Angela Elizabeth “Sis” Wesselman, and sons, Jeffrey Paul Wesselman and Randy Wesselman, all preceded him in death. He is survived by his children, Jude Wesselman (Carole), Janet Marie Farris (David), Bernard William Wesselman (Rachelle), Jerome Christopher Wesselman (Karen) and daughter-in-law, Karen Steinhilber Wesselman; siblings, Joseph Wesselman (Marty) and Rita Workman; and many grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 6, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at noon at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 5313 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. Interment with military honors will follow at St. Cecilia Cemetery. Due to the current COVID-19 restriction, face masks are required, social distancing is encouraged, and 60% capacity will be limited at the church.
