Obituary of Bill Caldwell
Charles William “Bill” Caldwell, of Independence, KY passed away peacefully surrounded by his cherished family after a hard-fought battle with cancer on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at the age of 72.
He was born in Pendleton, KY on April 2, 1946; the son of the late Charles Logan and Mabel Caldwell. Bill had retired from the trouble shooting department with Duke Energy and was a faithful member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. He was also a member of Newport Elks Lodge 273 and enjoyed playing golf. His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his beloved family.
Bill is survived by his devoted wife, Doris “Eileen” Caldwell; loving daughters, Diana “D.D.” Caldwell and Amy (Bob) Herrlinger; brother, Alfred Blaine (Peggy) Caldwell; grandchildren, Samantha Caldwell, Jacob (Kristen) Henry and Matthew Herrlinger; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, John and Lilliana; as well as Sherry Lynn Sexton whom he considered a daughter and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will mourn his loss and cherish his memory.
A visitation for Bill will take place from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, 11969 Taylor Mill Road, Independence, KY 41051. Pastor Bill Clark will officiate the services. Burial will immediately follow in procession to Floral Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 5336 Old Taylor Mill Road, Taylor Mill, KY 41015.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials in Bill’s name be made to the Hickory Grove Baptist Church Building Fund (see address above).
