Obituary of Lawrence P. "Larry" Code

Lawrence P. “Larry” Code, 72, of Walton, died October 1, 2018.  He was born January 23, 1946 in Walton, and was raised in the Code House, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

He graduated from Boone County High School and attended Eastern Kentucky University.  He was retired from Rotek as an Assembly Technician after 38 years of service.  He was also an active farmer and gardener.  He was a member of Verona Full Gospel Church and New Life Chapel, Beaver Lick, KY.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Karen (Coleman) Code, his children, Holly Shepherd, Tammy Johnson, JoAnn Geiman (Tom), Chris Code, Emily Code, and Sarah Gonzalez, his sister, Betty Roland (Dave), his brother, Tom Code, seven grandchildren, Breana, Savannah, Cody, Avery, Liam, Benjamin, Natalie, and 2 great-grandsons.  He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph T. Code, mother, Frances (Roberts) Code, infant sister, Frances Code.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with the funeral service immediately following, Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Walton, KY.  Interment will take place at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Highway 14, Verona, KY.  Memorials may be given to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, 3333 Burnet Ave, Cincinnati, OH, 45229.
