In 1983 Community Church began a very exciting ministry with the opening of Community Christian Academy. The vision of Pastor Bates and tireless efforts of so very many brought this tremendous outreach to reality as classes began in the fall of that year.
Ralph played a major role is this work. As finances were always a challenge, Ralph and Carole contributed at the beginning and every year going forward.
He also worked with the "Bus Ministry" and so many other things. What I will always remember was this. He would show up and simply ask "how's it going brother"?
In the spring of 1997, Ralph and I met for lunch there in Independence and spoke of life, the Lord and good things.
Ralph was so very unique and we are blessed to know him.

Whenever I think of Ralph, I always remember the way he greeted me, "Hey Pal ". I always thought of him as my friend. Mom & Dad worked many many hours on Community Christian Academy to get it up & running. Well, the school couldn't afford for me to go for free, as a "Thank You" for Mom & Dad's hard work. And that bothered Ralph, so he told the school to send him the bill for my tuition. And that was the kind of man Ralph Blanton was!!! He had a heart of gold. He will be missed & never forgotten. I am praying for the family.
I will see you again !!!
Your "Pal",
Dion

My favorite thing about Ralph was his prayers. He began them with, "Dear Heavenly Father, we come to you in the name of your precious Son, Jesus," and he ended them the same way, "We ask all these things in the name of your precious son, Jesus." Ralph knew "There is Something About that Name." May his soul rest in peace, and may our Heavenly Father's precious Son, Jesus, give our Carol, Tara, Charles, Tom, and all who loved Ralph His comfort and peace.

Although I do have specific memories that I could share, I think my favorite thing and favorite memory, is to hear him truly laugh. He had a good laugh and when he got tickled, his genuine smile spread.
Much love to the family, he will be missed.
