Obituary of Lona Karen Murphy
Lona Karen McCubbin Murphy, age 63, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2018 at Select Specialty Hospital in Ft. Thomas.
She was born to the late, Robert and Bonnie McCubbin on October 1, 1954 in Covington, KY. Lona worked as a tax examiner for the IRS and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Independence.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Ken Murphy.
Lona is survived by her beloved children, Amy (Jeff) Schenk and Adam Murphy; siblings, Rhonda “Susie” (Kenny) Webster, Donna Sebastian, Robert (Lois) McCubbin II, Robin “Poo” (Charles) Kahrs and Nola (James) Bishop; grandchildren, Jeffrey Jr., Alyssa and Sydney Schenk; 12 nieces and nephews and many other loving family members and friends.
A visitation for Lona will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 5PM until the time of the Funeral Service, 7PM, at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence.
Interment will take place on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Independence Cemetery beginning at 10AM.
